NaNo Over a Stein, Week Three

Ack! We’re at the NaNo midpoint already?!

Well, I was going strong this week. Was!

Then life blinded sided me! I had to deal with college preparations, Internet loss, burnout and est. Not fun.

Which is also the reason I was MIA this week!

I didn’t fall too far behind—thank god—but I do wish I would’ve preformed better.

On a more sunnier side, I’m challenging myself with a short story. This would be my first try at writing a short story so I’m a bit excited about it.

Have you written a short story before? Give me some pointers!

Eek, hope all goes well in life! I’m sure you’ll catch up quickly 🙂

I’ve written a couple short stories and I would say that the best thing to remember is to keep it simple, but put more detail and emphasis into the part that matters the most, if that makes sense. Since short stories are… Well, short- there’s less time to tell what’s happening, so it’s important to focus on the bigger ideas. Good luck in writing, I can’t wait to see what comes out of it!

So you’re saying to keep more focus on the main conflict and less (or not at all) on subplots. Makes sense :)!

        My pleasure!
And yeah, pretty much- you’ll see what I mean as you write and then re-read it over 😛

  2. I think short stories can be a great way to inspire and keep you motivated to work on longer projects. Love the title! Good luck with 🙂

The one thing that I’m liking about writing the short is that its so straight forward.
