Today is like that moment just when you wake up: dizzying with a substantial lack of motivation.
Yep, I’m experiencing a Monday Blah!
I hate days like these! They feed on my creativity making it difficult to…well create!
“You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.”
– Mark Twain
There’s nothing wrong with taking a breather. Buuuut it becomes a problem when a “five minute break” turns into a “four month long hiatus.”
During times like these, when you just don’t feel like writing, you have to. Because if you don’t…you never will.
“Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”
– Benjamin Franklin
Have you ever had a Monday that was slow? What did you do to pick it up?
Lately I’ve been using poetry prompts and tweaking them to suit my posts, which usually aren’t about poetry. I find this helps me create posts that are original, quirky or both. I want to write them right away because they’re an interesting mix of ideas that I have to share. So that’s how I get started when stuck.
Mixing things up sounds like a great way to keep things interesting.
I just nominated you for a Character Blog Hop. Here’s the link:http://wp.me/p2DFYz-W3. You don’t have to do anything but I hope you’ll join in and have fun!
Either way (if I do it or don’t) thanks for the nomination 🙂
…now lets see if I can write this post without giving to much away.
Ugh, Mondays. Sometimes it takes a lot to get me going, especially if it’s been a really great weekend. But you’re right, you just got to get writing, or you never will 😀
I can totally relate! Once my family and I had a big barbecue on Sunday that really exhausted me. Monday arrived way to quick and it took all my will power to write something down lol. 😀
